Our Level 2 Working As A Door Supervisor In The Private Security Industry training course is ideal for anyone looking to obtain their SIA license and wishing to work as a security operative. This license allows you to work in retail security, static guarding, mobile patrols, festivals and events, as well as a door supervisor in licensed premises. This course will provide you with all the essential knowledge and skills to work in the fast growing private security industry. Due to changes in the SIA regulations on 1st April 2021 this is now a 6 Day course. Our price includes the New Door Supervisors Handbook.

You must be at least 18 years old to complete the SIA Door Supervisor training course. Once you book the course you will be sent a welcome pack which gives further information on the venue and the ID requirements for the course, the ID requirements are in line with the SIA requirements to obtain a licence and only the ID stated will be accepted.

Part of this course involves an element of distance learning, you will be sent a pre-course work book and a test paper that must be completed by yourself before attending the course. Failure to complete this work will put your place on the course in jeopardy.

Prior to starting the course you now must have an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate. If you do not currently have a certificate with at least 1 year left before renewal we can provide this 1 day course check our available dates.

You must be at least 18, if you have any qualifications in English/Maths let us know on the booking form if English is not your first language you may have to do a further assessment in line with SIA regulations.

Once you book the course you will be sent a welcome pack which gives info on the venue and the ID requirements for the course this ID is in line with the SIA requirements to obtain a licence and only the ID stated will be accepted.

You will also be sent a pre-course work book and a test paper that must be completed by yourself before attending the course it is estimated this could take up to 9 study hours. Failure to complete this work will put your place on the course in jeopardy

A Door Supervisors licence is the most flexible SIA security licence as it allows you to work in static guarding, retail security, mobile patrols, festivals and events and of course on licensed premises. You need a Door Supervisors licence to work anywhere were alcohol is retailed e.g. supermarkets that retail alcohol.

How is the qualification assessed?

It is divided into 4 units and is assessed through 3 multiple-choice exams, 1 true-false test and practical assessment. These units are as follows:

Unit 1: Working in the Private Security Industry
Assessed by multiple-choice exam of 1 hour consisting of 40 questions. Learners must achieve a score of at least 28 out of 40 to pass unit.

Unit 2: Working as a Door Supervisor
Assessed by multiple-choice exam of 1 hour 15 minutes consisting of 45 questions. Learners must achieve a score of at least 32 out of 45 to pass unit.

Unit 3: Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
Assessed by multiple-choice exam of 30 minutes consisting of 20 questions. Learners must achieve a score of at least 14 out of 20 to pass unit.

Unit 4: Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry
Assessed in two parts.  Part one practical test -part two written True or False test. Learners must achieve 100%.

You will needTwo identity documents from group A. At least one document must show your current address and at least one document must show your date of birth. Or

One identity document from group A and two documents from group B. At least one document must show your current address and at least one document must show your date of birth.

Group A documents:

  • Signed valid passport of any nationality.
  • Signed valid UK photo driving licence full or provisional
  • UK original birth certificate issued within 12 months of birth
  • UK biometric residence permit

Group B documents:

  • Valid EU photo ID card.
  • UK adoption certificate
  • Valid UK firearms license with photo
  • Signed valid UK paper driving license.
  • Marriage certificate or Civil Partnership certificate, with translation if not in English.
  • UK birth certificate issued more than 12 months after date of birth but not a photocopy
  • Non-UK birth certificate, with translation if not in English.
  • P45 statement of income for tax purposes on leaving a job issued in the last 12mths
  • P60 annual statement of income for tax purposes issued in the last 12 months.
  • Bank or building society statement issued to your current address, less than three months old. You can use more than one statement if each is issued by a different bank or building society.
  • Mortgage statement issued in the last 12 months.
  • Utility bill (gas, electric, telephone, water, satellite, cable.) issued to your current address within the last three months. You can only use one utility bill in support of your application.
  • Pension, endowment or ISA statement issued in last 12 months.
  • British work permit or visa issued in last 12 months.
  • Letter from H.M. Revenue & Customs, Department of Work and Pensions, employment service, or local authority issued within the last three months. You can use more than one letter if each is issued by a different Government department or a different local authority.
  • A credit card statement sent to your current address within the last three months. You can use more than one statement if each is issued by a different issuer.
  • Council Tax statement issued in the last 12 months.
  • Child benefit book issued in last 12 months
